Weird scab like spot on hamster

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster.

My daughter has a little, winter white dwarf hamster (at least that's what she thinks the breed is). It's just the one hamster in the habitat and she eats hamster safe food and the OCCASIONAL veggie. We clean the cage every 30-45 days and make sure she always has fresh water.

Today, we noticed this tiny spot on her back. It's about the size of a BB and feels like a tiny scab that can be picked off but I don't think we should do that. My wife was poking around on the web and thinks it's a skin abscess. I'm going to attach a few pictures.

Anyone know what this is or how to treat it?

I was rubbing around the spot and she didn't bite me or seem to notice and runs around her cage at night and is her normal, active self so I don't think it's causing her any pain/problem but we'd like to get it addressed if it's something bad.

It could be an abcess so i would get it checked out by a vet in case she needs antibiotics.
