Default Hamster has pimple-like wound with pus(?)

Hi, i have a 3-4month old male(i think, not entirely sure) dwarf who i recently discovered an open wound near to where the scent gland should be.
This morning i noticed it was producing what i think is pus. He seems to be wheezing a little but I'm not sure if its because of the wound
He doesnt exactly respond to it when the wound is touched, and his daily routine is still pretty normal albeit him eating a little less and drinking a little more, i think.

Have attached 2 images of his wound
Should i be worried? Thank you!

It looks like the scent gland is blocked. Try bathing it with warm, saline (a teasoon of salt in a pint of boiled water that you have cooled down. It doesn't look infected to me but if you think it is it may be best to see the vet. The scent secreted from the gland is quite thick and greasy and blocks up easily.
