URGENT Syrian hamster’s ear turning black with scabbing?
Yesterday I noticed my Syrian hamsters left ear has started to turn black and there is some scabbing on the back side of ear. The right ear looks normal ans there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong inside the ear from what I can tell. I got him from Petsmart in May but i’m not exactly sure of his age. He isn’t around other hamsters and isn’t behaving any differently than normal but the left ear does not look healthy and i’m freaking out. Trying to attach a photo but the size isn’t working. Any ideas on what to do?

Hi and welcome to HC!
I think only a vet has the knowledge to advise and treat so i would take him for a check up as soon as possible.

Agree he needs to be seen by a vet. It could be infection or it could be some kind of mite infestation. Either way he will need a diagnosis and medication.
