Default Testicle or Tumor?

Hello, I have a 8 month Syrian hamster and I just noticed something the other day. I am not sure if it is just one of his testicles or something more serious like a tumor, should I be concerned?

Hello, testes don't usually poke out like that. Its just one photo so could be angle but any concern with large lumps you should get to the vets

Hello and welcome to HC!

This doesn't look like a testicle to me and i would take him to a vet who knows about hamsters.

Difficult to tell from that angle. Their testes can look a bit like that when descended. If it's testes it should go away again. If not it could be a prolapse and yes that would need a vet visit fairly urgently. It would be unusual for an 8 month old hamster to have a tumour though - that is generally when they're older, but not impossible. Can you get some more photos.

I am 90% sure it is a tumor

I think the best thing is have a vet check and have him examined. It may not be a tumour. It does look rather red. Does he seem in pain at all? Ears down? Hunched? Difficulty walking at all? Or does he seem fine in himself.

If it helps, this was our first syrian sitting on his man bits when they were descended. They usually protrude when they're either warm or comfortable. The second photo they're not sticking out too much. On the first one you can see lower right on him that they are protruding and pink.

If it's like that permanently though you need to get the vet to have a look.
