Default female syrian is wet and itchy on her sides

Hi all,
Tonight when I took Fig out of her house to play with her, I noticed she has wet patches on either side of her body and slightly on her back, just behind her front legs. The patches are not wet but are noticeably damp.

She was happy to take a dust bath and this seems to have helped. She seems somewhat itchier than usual around this area, and is cleaning herself more but otherwise is completely normal and is eating, drinking and going to the toilet normally.

I have read that this could be caused by her scent glands, is there any chance someone could please confirm this for me. Fig is a female syrian hamster, and she is 11 months old. I have attempted to attach an image but technology is far from my strong point so it may not work.

Thank you in advance.

has she been marking her territory? rubbing herself against things, has she just been cleaned out?

Hi,
I haven’t noticed her rubbing herself on anything but yes - I did her full cage clean out yesterday.

Could it be her scent glands?

yes, it is possible it is her scent glands, I'm just wondering if she is scenting everything (causing the wetness) because you did a full cage clean out.

Did you change all the bedding?
