Concerns Over Recently Adopted Hamster

Hi,

Kindly see attached a picture of Ali G, 4-5 mo male syrian who I adopted approximately 2 weeks ago.

He seemed perfectly alert after I brought him home.

However, over the last week he has been suffering from sticky eyes, which I haven't been able to clear up with damp cotton, lethargy and excessive urination.

I have also noticed his ears have been laying flat and wanted to come here to seek advice.

I wondered if the heat here in the UK of late could have had an ill effect on him. He is kept out of direct sunlight but the room still gets hot.
