Dying Hamster
I have a dwarf hamster (I do not know the exact species) and she has been in my care for almost three years now. She never let me get close to her so I never really picked her up unless I had to clean. I just always guessed she was doing good by her behaviors. I noticed that for the past few days she has been still moving and running around but not as much as she normally would.
That is when I found her today and she was flipped on her back by her water and I was able to pick her up and I noticed that she has a giant tumor by her leg and she has lost a lot of weight. She is barely moving today and it seems like she is going to die today or in the next few days.
A vet is not an option for me but I was wondering what I can do to make her more comfortable while she is going through this. She has plenty of water and food already and her cage is clean.

Re: Dying Hamster
Sorry to hear this. Your hamster has lived to a good age, so has obviously been well cared for and loved. There is not much you can do apart from making sure that she is warm enough. Stroke her if she seems to find that comforting and talk softly to her so that she knows she's not alone. If she is able to eat, offer some treats.
You say that a vet is not an option, but if you feel your hamster is suffering, it would be far kinder to help her on her way.
Please let us know how things go for her.

Re: Dying Hamster
I would say the vets are less expensive than you think, my first hamster Bubbles had a growth on her bits and bobs. As soon as we saw it growing we took her to vets and they said it was not survivable and would become painful for her, so they helped her on her way and it was £18 and they gave me a month to pay it in. So sorry to hear about your hamster
