Tape safe for hamsters?
I'm sorry if this isn't the right topic, but I have a question regarding tape.
I recently thought about making my hammie a playground using some cardboard boxes and toilet paper rolls. Thing is, I have to use something to hold it together. I will try my best to make holes and puzzle together the pieces with no tape. But there are parts where I need to use it or the contraption won't hold together.
I don't wanna use normal plastic duct tape, since I know it can be dangerous to them if they bite it. But what about medical tape? The one made of this papery material we use to hold bandages together. Will that be a safer bet? Is the adhesive somewhat less toxic than regular tape's?
Or is there some kind of safe-for-pets tape on sale? I tried looking up on Amazon but I found nothing...

Re: Tape safe for hamsters?
There's not going to be a safe tape unfortunately. Any and all tape, if ingested, would lead to potentially very serious blockages at the very worst which could absolutely lead to a hamster dying.

Re: Tape safe for hamsters?
could you use glue, something like ponal classic, ponal express or elmers school glue.
I have used a hot glue gun before to stick things together but only for items used out of the cage.
you wouldn't want to use any tape as it would still be sticky if they were to chew it.

If it is just for free range time then I wouldn't worry too much as she will be supervised.
You can slot cardboard together, I used to have a pre made slotted hamster maze that would have been easy to make (but I was lazy!)

Re: Tape safe for hamsters?
Yeah, it makes sense any kind of sticky material can be harmful... I'll try to find a non-toxic glue instead, or maybe I can use staples or some kind of wire/thread to hold together the corner walls. Of course, making sure no pointy edge is present.
