Default Wound on dwarf hamster

I saw yesterday my dwarf hamster had a scab on her back.
She didn't seem so notice it, pick or scratch at the scab at all.
And was moving fine on her wheel and normal behaviour.

I phones the vet today to book and appoint and get advice.
They suggested to clean the wound with warm water once the scab come off and to keep clean and dry.

This evening I noticed the scab was gone and I did exactly as directed. And dried her thoroughly with a towel.
I removed her sand from her tank too, as I thought it might irritate the wound. Especially as she rolls heavily in there.

I've given her treats and food scattered this evening to keep her busy. She seems a bit grumpy now but no unusual movement or actions.

Any advice? Or suggestions?
My vet appointment is on Tuesday, the earliest I could get.

That looks like an injury to me and i would email the photo to the vet.

I'd check her habitat to see where she could have hurt herself. Maybe she got her fur caught and there's still some fur there so you can fix the hazard.

It looks like a wound to me too - almost a puncture wound. Do you have a cat or other pets? Either that or, could she have fallen from a height in her cage and landed on her back (they can get injured like that even landing on a bendy bridge). Dwarf hamsters need cages that aren't too tall. What cage is she in?

I would take her to the vet - she may need antibiotics. For bathing the wound, saline can be good - a teaspoonful of salt dissolved in a pint of boiling water (then let the water cool so it's only just tepid). And dab it on with a cotton bud or corner of a soft cloth - not too wet so she doesn't get soaked. It should help heal as well as cleanse.

I located a pinecone that had a section broken. She does enjoy chewing and forging treats from pinecones, so I think she attacked too hard.
I hope it's just a wound and nothing serious.
I cleansed with saline and gauze I got from work (I'm nurse in a hospital).
She's in a detolf, so no real heights for her to fall from.
Shall see what vet says Tuesday when I see them.

*UPDATE of vet visit*
Said it's just a cut. No sign of infection. Healing well.
Good weight. Lung and heart sounds normal.
If she starts scratching or biting at it, bring her back in.
If becomes inflamed or appears infected, bring back.
Antibiotics are an option
