That's good that they want to see her. When can you take her?

I was going to take her tomorrow but they want to charge me £86 for a consultation fee and I’m a bit weary already as they’ve said it looks like discharge when it’s 100% a spot with pus in it so I’m going to try to get a opinion from a different vets

They probably can't tell for sure from a photo hence need to see her to give her the correct treatment.

Did the other vet get back to you?

£86 does sound like a lot for a consultation. I usually pay about £45 max. They may need to physically examine her though to see if they can feel anything going on onside in case it is pyometra. If they suspect that then it would probably be a course of antibiotics but it depends. They can recommend spaying to prevent something worsening. Hope the other vet is cheaper and helpful. Do you think the exotic vet would reduce the fee of you say you can’t afford that? Might be worth a try.

The other vet I messaged didn’t get back to me but there’s another one that reopens Monday that I may try that specialises in small animals too.

I’ve just asked if the exotic vet is it any cheaper on week days and hopefully they’ll get the hint there and like I said I’m going to get hold of another too to get a few opinions and options. My worry is if it is pyometra and I know it’s bad but I want where I take her that they will not guess and actually diagnose her properly with what it is. I’ve had so many bad experiences with vets and feel like most don’t even know much about my guinea pigs let alone a hamster

So the exotic vets said they can do £46 on Monday they’re about 25 mins away, the only exotic vets in my area , I’m unsure wether to book with them or wait and see what another vets says Monday which specialises in small pets, more rabbits I guess which is about 5 mins away.

I wouldn't wait any longer than necessary because your hamster may be in pain if she has an infection and they're very good at hiding it.

£46 fee for an exotics vet is fairly reasonable. The one near me charges £59.
