Quick question (very specific)
If you have scented lotion on and you touch your hamster can that be dangerous?

Re: Quick question (very specific)
It can be very irritating to them, in some cases even toxic. Definitely make sure the lotion is fully absorbed into your skin before touching your hamster or anything of theirs - preferably don't handle them or their things with lotion at all though as this is your safest bet providing you use unscented soap.
It can also cause a hamster to mistake your hands for food depending on the lotion's scent which can of course lead to unwanted nipping and even biting.

Re: Quick question (very specific)
One of my hamsters detests scented soaps and handcream. One sniff and he's off.
It is advised to wash hands with unscented soap before handling a hamster especially when taming but i don't think its dangerous to touch a hamster while wearing hand cream. I suppose any residue of cream that comes into contact with a hamster's eyes by accident could be an irritant and lossibly harmful because creams are full of chemicals.

Okay, great! Thank you. Definitely don't want my hamster getting irritated from handcream.
