Default Old Robo hamster with overgrown teeth

Male Robo hamster Dale
2 years old

Hello everyone, iam really hoping someone else has gone through a similar situation and can give some advice.

Last month early November i started to notice dale was starting to have trouble eating and very selective with his eating habitats. At this stage i checked his teeth realised they had become overgrown and mishaped.
I took him to the vets and they just said they should eroded down on their own and its likely happened from a fall as he is abit wobbled on feet now hes getting on abit.

By late november he was getting even more picky and then one morning a woke up to blood allover his front. He had cut himself somehow while eating. I rushed him down to the vets and a different vet cut 3mm of teeth off the bottom and top. We couldnt see the wound but the teeth woukd be better sized now.

Its now mid december and dale is again having trouble and teeth r becoming long again and as tge top ones curl backwards food is getting stuck behind.

The questions really is how often do robo teeth need cutting when get into regularly teeth clipping? Vet said every couple months but iam concerned now after less than month. Is there anything i can do to further reduced teeth clipping session. He has losts of gnaws and he gets biscuits which he will make the effort to grind his teeth on.

Thank you

He may have damaged his teeth & caused them to become misaligned in which case they won’’t wear down & will need clipping regularly, one of my hams had this problem when he got older & they needed clipping every 3-4 weeks, growth does slow down a bit in winter but it still won’t be far off that.
