Isaderm cream for hamster
Isaderm cream for dogs was prescribed for my hamster. She’s a dwarf hamster and has a bald spot beside her ear that’s red and raw, no fur as she’s itching at it and there looked to be a bit of waxiness stuck to her fur which I thought could be discharge. Because of this a vet prescribed isaderm but I’m worried it’ll harm her even more as it’s for dogs. Has anyone else used this on their hamster? Worried she’ll ingest it also!

Re: Isaderm cream for hamster
I think it should be OK. The active ingredient in it is safe for most small animals. Try and not put too much on. Maybe use a cotton bud. I hope it helps. I have had the 'eye' version containing the same antibiotic for hamsters and it was fine and was a cat eye gel. It also has an ingredient which should calm the itch

Yea the vet recommended doing it with a cotton bud and keeping her busy while it absorbs so I’ll definitely try it! Also going to purchase some mite spot on pipette treatment and try that too as she’s itching all around her body. Thanks for your help!
