Default Quarantine

Hi! I currently have Milo, my Syrian, but I'm hoping to get a winter white as soon as lockdown is over. I know you should with rats and mice, but should I quarantine the new hamster in a different room? I just don't want them to pass anything on to Milo. Pretty unlikely, but could my dog Betsy catch anything? I don't think so... Thanks!!
Rest in Peace Milo

If you can it is a good idea to quarantine new hams for a while, I'm not sure how long people usually do it for, I've never done it as I just don't have the space but I may have just been lucky.
I don't think you need worry about your dog though.

If you're able to then do it. Like cypher, I wouldn't know how long for but, if you can't then I would ensure the cages are at opposite ends of the room and always wash your hands in between visits to each cage including feeding times and keeping the bowls separate.
