Default Deep cleans

So my mouse recently had to go to the vet and turns out she had mites, so a super deep clean will be needed. How do you guys personally clean all yall's toys and such (specifically woods with metal in them or loofah material because I can't find much on those). She is currently in a hospital enclosure and I've got all her bedding and such cleaned out but not sure how to clean some of the toys we have.

I use half vinegar and half water solution, its pet safe and cleans really well, you just have to give it 5 mins to soak in before wiping it off with just kitchen roll, Hope this helps!

You'd want to toss those all out. Wood can't be safely fully cleaned - anything you use would end up staying in the wood as wood is extremely porous, and baking and freezing do not do enough to properly clean them(with baking being extremely dangerous and certainly not an option for wood with metal).

Freezing is usually enough to kill of any remaining mites, at least 48 hours but I would give it a week.

Does anyone know about coated wooden toys? I called my vet and he said porous stuff like wood should be tossed but I completely forgot to ask about coated woods

I would still just freeze them, should be ok.

For cleaning out the tank use a small pet disinfectant - in the Uk there are ones by Beaphar, Johnsons and Safe4. This will ensure the cage is safe but not leave any bleach residue or aroma (as bleach would do). Even so rinse out well with water to remove any scent after leaving the disinfectant on for a while. Any ceramic or plastic items you can just give a good washing with washing up liquid for dishes - soap them all over and then rinse it off well.

The wood items - eg bark wood - are always the tricky thing. I am not sure whether freezing or baking is best - freezing certainly kills moth eggs but not all bugs.

Personally I would replace those items but freezing may solve it.
