HELP!!! Is this normal for his scent glands??

My boy Snail is nearly 2 and has been struggling with his health recently, excessive scratching, signs of a neurological condition, excessively drinking. And I was almost certain it was something mental that he was struggling with but his scent gland looks like this and I cant tell if it is normal or not but I dont think it is and its never looked like this before.
