Need help!!! Nail-like growth ON foot!
Good morning all! I found a nail-like growth on my boy's little foot and I'm wondering what that is. He still runs and walks normal, but am afraid it could lead to something bad. I checked some older photos of his and it looks like it started growing out last month or so. What could it be??

Re: Need help!!! Nail-like growth ON foot!
Does he use a wire wheel? If so, metal wire/mesh running surfaces can cause damage to hamsters feet. Otherwise, sometimes hamsters can get a nail-like growth of hard skin on their foot for no apparent reason... it's not very rare and a vet can remove it; but either way round, I'd definitely recommend taking him to a vet to get it checked and treated.
