Bathing hamsters eyes
Edison has just got up for his mid-sleep constitutional and his eye is a bit sticky.
It's been a years since I've dealt with sticky eyes and I was wondering what the current concensus is on best home remedy. Twenty years ago we used to use Luke warm tea (no milk of course) but I keep reading now that most people just use cooled boiled water.
He's a little old man now and has never travelled well so I want to avoid the stress of a vet visit.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bathing hamsters eyes
Generally if you leave it the hamster with clean their eye on their own. But if you notice it’s still there after a day or so I’d use a q tip dipped in some lukewarm water to clean it off. The caffeine in tea could be harmful.
