New hamster isn’t sleeping
Hi, so today I just got a new hamster. We got him around 11:00 and now it’s 5:00. All day long he’s been waking up for 5-10 minutes, going back to sleep for an hour or two, and then waking back up again. My past hamster didn’t do this when I first got him. Should I be worried?

Re: New hamster isn’t sleeping
That is normal for a new and young hamster. It is quite stressful moving to a new home and all the changes in smells and sounds and the new cage etc and not having any siblings around so keep him nice and quiet for now and let him explore and rest as he wishes without too much disturbance

Exactly as Souffle says, this is totally normal. Don’t worry. I will say though, don’t be too eager to touch them. I would wait a week before petting your hamster, it sounds like they may be a little stressed. Good luck!
