Default My hamster has a lump on one eye. Help!

I just got back from a four week long holiday to find that my hamster had a lump on one eye. My pet sitter had not mentioned anything so it came as a surprise. My hamster's right eye is swollen to the point where she can barely open it. The lump is purple and there is also a thin layer of puss covering part of her eye. I will not be able to go to the vet until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. What should I do?

Soak warm salt water( only a tinge of salt) with paper towel and wipe the area.
It seems like an abscess . Your pet will be alright. But visit the vet soon so that things are under control

Sounds like an abscess or eye infection. Gently cleaning the eye with saline solution will help but the vet should prescribe antibiotics (either oral, eyedrops, or both).
