Default Deaf syrian hamster?

So, recently I have noticed that Basil has not been responding to sounds like he usually does. I was just wondering if maybe he had done deaf, or lost some of his hearing? This is not a problem I have ever encountered with my previous hamsters and was just wondering if anybody else had experienced this or knows how to be sure. He is 2 years and 4 months now so I guess it makes sense but just thought I would come on here and see if anybody else has the same problem.
Thanks in advance!

I've never had a hamster go deaf. But I know that it is indeed possible with an aging hamster to experience loss of hearing. Almost all old hamsters loose some of their hearing. So you shouldn't be too worried
