tumors

i was at the vet yesterday to get my hamster harley treated for her one eye. the vet examined her and found on a tumor on her belly. he didn't sound concerned yet, he only said that hamsters can get tumors. my harley has a quarter-size pimple-like tumor on her belly. could it be bad?!

Tumours vary a lot, some will grow quickly & others can remain small & not too much of a problem but any tumour is a cause for concern, was the vet certain it is a tumour? If it is then you will need to keep a very close eye on it for any changes that would indicate treatment was needed.

Yes, the vet said that it was a tumor. My Harley doesn't act or seem to be in pain from it. I was worried at first that the vet was going to remove it and send it for testing to see if it was bad, but he didn't.
