Exclamation Alopecia and Bump

Hello! I have frequently visited this website but have not posted before. My dwarf hamster, Millie, is a year and four months and is also diabetic. I realized she was diabetic after two months of owning her and have been treating it with daily insulin shots. I am a T1 diabetic myself so I have all of the supplies and have a lot of knowledge about insulin injections. She has been getting the insulin shots for over a year and is very active and happy!

I noticed about two weeks ago that she had this patch of fur missing and it looked like a raised bump, almost like a skin tag. I know hamsters can get warts so I am not sure if that is what it could be, but I have attached some pictures. I also noticed that she began to have hair loss in her lower back near her tail. I was curious if anybody else has had any experiences with this, and what you have done. I am going to take her to the vet, but due to the holidays it may be a week or two before I can get in.

I read that increasing protein may help, but I do not want to mess with her diet too much before I know exactly what is going on. She is currently on Oxbow Essentials hamster food and Oxbow Garden Select food, because it is easier to know how to dose her insulin. She also gets a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit (I adjust her insulin) and plain chicken.

If anybody can provide any information or help I would appreciate it!!

Also, I don't normally hold/handle Millie like that, I just needed a good picture!
