In advanced/severe cases - paws, nails and lip may start to look slightly bluish in colour due to lack of oxygen getting into blood from lung having mucus in them.
I believe this is what Maple’s Severe Respiratory Infection became before she passed away so I am really hoping Wonder doesn’t have pneumonia.

I would have thought it would be similar to in humans - and the main symptom there is high fever - plus pain in the back usually - a bit like flu. OH had pneumonia and it was mistaken for flu at first until he couldn't breathe! Later symptoms would be respiratory distress.

If you suspect it then you need antibiotics asap. They are the cure for pneumonia

Sorry to cause concern SKB & Serendipity
To be clear, I don't suspect Wonder has pneumonia, I was just interested in knowing the symptoms.
Thank you both for the additional info
