There’s something wrong with my hamster
My hamster has had a fishy smell lately and she has a yellow coloured discharge, she’s sleeping longer then she usually does, her ears are folded, she’s still eating and drinking water and she is still active as well I’m just not sure what’s wrong, as she’s the first hamster I’ve ever owned.

Re: There’s something wrong with my hamster
Sorry to hear your ham is unwell, it would be best to take her to the vet for a check, it's not always easy to know what the problem may be but it could be the beginning of pyometra so the sooner you get her seen the better.
Good luck, I hope it's not something serious & she is better soon.

Re: There’s something wrong with my hamster
Is her belly area firm and pregnant looking? And if you press gently round the tummy is there more discharge? If so it could definitely be pyo and she’d need to see a vet immediately for a spay.
I assume she’s not in heat as this is the first time she’s behaved like this? I do hope it’s nothing too serious.

Re: There’s something wrong with my hamster
Definitely needs a vet visit. Hopefully it could just be a urine infection and they can give antibiotics but she does need checking out for pyometra as that can be nasty if left untreated.

I agree with cypher,Serendipity and mangoandmimi. It definitely sounds like pyometra and it is pretty bad when it is left untreated. Hope your ham will be okay! Crossing my fingers!
