Is my hamster dying?
So about a week or two ago, my hamster of four years, Tiny Pig, passed. The behaviors she was displaying was average signs. Sleeping outside of hut, slow and cold, etc.
One of my Russian white dwarfs, Pants, has been sleeping outside of her hut that she usually sleeps in, and instead under her wheel. She does not seem slow, cold, or shaky, but I am still worried. Perhaps I may be paranoid due to the recent events of my old hamster, but I would like some second opinions to calm my nerves. Here's a picture of what she has been doing, and for anyone wondering, she is about one year old. (Got her early 2017)

Re: Is my hamster dying?
Hi,
I would doubt that your dwarf Hammy is dying, she may be warm hence her sleeping more in the open,I am assuming that she is eating and drinking as per normal? Hamsters often do things we would consider bizarre and out of character, Ghost has quit sleeping in a house and now makes himself a giant igloo out of his Kaytee bedding, could I suggest giving your dwarf hammy a better depth of substrate/bedding as they love to dig and burrow.
But if you are that worried then maybe a visit to the vet for a check up?

Re: Is my hamster dying?
After I had posted this I had considered this! It is summer in my country and even though I keep two fans running in my room 24/7. I now realize that it might be getting too hot for her. I decided to move her cage onto a new table so nothing is blocking the mesh. ( I have 3 aquariums, all stacked on top of each other to conserve space due to my small room) I can't really do much about ventilation so what do you supposed I can do to help her cool down? I'm glad she is not dying, but worried she may be getting too hot.
To confirm your assumption, yes, she is eating and drinking as normal, with a healthy and moderate diet of fresh veggies and fruits.

Re: Is my hamster dying?
In order to help her cool down, why not watch a youtube video about cooling Hamsters down?
One thing I only know about cooling them is putting ice cubes in their water bottle and putting a terracotta pot then covering it with like a small bowl that fits on-top then putting a plastic with ice cubes inside the terracotta pot.
Make sure the Terraccotta Pot is well placed in the cage so she can reach it.

Re: Is my hamster dying?
Mine have been sleeping outside their nests lately too and I'm pretty sure it's down to the weather. We've put a mug in Floras cage, a teacup saucer in Mallows, extra sand in both and also little terracotta pot saucers in both (managed to score them last night in Tesco for 50p each). We've also been refrigerating sand and their two ceramics to try and cool them down which they both seem to appreciate. Mallow likes to sploot after a good run on her wheel so I moved that into the shade too.
Since I work in the office, which is where they live I've been keeping the window open and the curtains closed too along with a fan to help circulate the air.
