Default Hamster limping, worried hamster mom:(

Hello
I am new here and currently own a long haired syrian hamster named Hamtaro. Yesterday i noticed that he was limping around in his cage and seemed a lot more stressed out than normally. I took him out and noticed that he was lifting his leg up when he walked around, but he still put some pressure on it when i held him. He eats and drinks like normally and it doesn't seem like he limps when he runs on his wheel. A little later at night yesterday he seemed to be putting some more pressure on his leg, but he struggles to groom because he can't keep his balance. He's only 5 moths old so i'm really worried about him. I'm considering taking him to the vet if he still limps today, but i would like some more tips and advice on what to do.
Thanks for replies

Sorry to hear that Hamtaro has hurt his leg, it sounds as though he could possibly have had a fall or got his foot or leg caught in something, it would probably be worth taking him to the vet to get him checked out, even if it's nothing too serious the vet might give him some metacam (pain killer/anti inflammatory) to help.
If he's struggling then you might need to rearrange his cage a bit so he can reach everything easily & if need be remove the wheel until he's better. Without seeing him it's hard to guess how bad it may be, hopefully it's nothing too serious & he'll soon be fine again.

Thank you for the reply
I took out his wheel last night but he got so bored and started climbing the bars which could have hurt him even more if he fell, so i put his wheel back in. i'm definitely going to get him to the vet today if he still limps, and probably invest in a large bin cage for the time being until he's fully healed so that he doesn't end up climbing the bars again.

Do you have a picture of his cage? and perhaps the wheel, there should be something that made him get a very long fall.

Took him out today and he seemed a lot better He wasn't limping anymore and it seemed like he had calmed down a lot. I'm thinking it might have just been a muscle strain or something like that and that he might have just gotten a little shocked and stressed.
