I'm feeling really bad .. i woke up today to find one of my 6 hamsters of age only one month ..dead!
I can't overcome it & it seems that his siblings & mummy & daddy are afraid of me & I don't know what to do... I don't even know what happened & caused his death
Pleaaaase Tell me what to do to avoid occurance of this one more time!

Re: Helpppp😭
Have you seen any sort of squabbling between the family? Even if it just looks like play fighting separate them immediately. Do you have experience with breeding hamsters? Please, if you do not have experience, consider giving your hamsters into a rescue or someone you know can take care of them.

Re: Helpppp😭
They're always squappling & it seems like just playing
& no one in my area thought of breeding a hamster before so I'm taking the risk on my own & trying to learn everything online ..
Anyway thanks alot & I'll try to keep an eye on them next time❤

Re: Helpppp😭
I’m sorry to hear that one of the babies has died.
Unfortunately one of the harsh realities of breeding is that despite our best efforts, we do from time to time have to deal with death. Sometimes the cause of this is obvious if bullying from other hamsters has occurred or there is signs of illness but sometimes they just happen. Sometimes this can be due to something that is not quite right with the baby internally and without further testing, you won’t always know what it was.
I know from experience that it’s not always easy when this sort of thing happens but for now you’ll need concentrate on the mother, father and remaining pups. Keep an eye on them and if they show signs of illness then get advice from a rodent-savvy vet but in the meantime try to keep to their normal routine as much as you can.

Re: Helpppp😭
At a month old it should be quite easy to sex them and you really need to split them. Hamsters can reach sexual maturity at this age and to reproduce is dangerous and unethical.
You really shouldn't have delved into breeding without knowing the basics first.
Perhaps if you post pictures of each pup we can help sex them for you
