Health advice and vet recommendations please!
Hi all,
So a few weeks back I posted about Soybean having an eye and skin infection. the eye has cleared up but the skin under her chin/neck is still bald, but more worryingly it's become very wrinkly and saggy over the past few weeks. She also seems more timid which is very unlike her, and her mouth is hanging open a lot despite not having anything wrong with her teeth or mouth. The only thing giving me hope is that she is eating and drinking as normal although more lethargic. I have noticed recently her scent glands have been bothering her more, and there's been a marked increase in rubbing and scratching the area. Don't know if that means it could be hormonal?
So far she has had 2 full weeks of Enrobactin plus 10 days of isathal eye drops. Her mouth and teeth have been checked and she's had scrapings for mites plus her urine concentration was found normal. I just don't know what to do and am worried my vet is clueless (she actually said last time that she didn't know what else she would do if the antibiotics didn't work).
Has anybody seen this before? Also I'm concerned that my vet will be unable to help her if I take her back, does anyone have any good vet recommendations for the Sheffield/S.yorkshire area?
I've never seen anything like this before and and super worried so any advice or ideas is very very appreciated
Thanks guys.

Re: Health advice and vet recommendations please!
Ok the skin and hair does sound not normal for a 9 month old. What hamster mix is she on? Just wondering if it is a nutritional deficiency (ie not enough protein or something). Linseeds are supposed to help with hair and skin condition. I am guessing it's not diet though or your vet would have mentioned it probably.
But it does sound like she needs to see a good vet who can make a diagnosis. This is an exotic vet in Sheffield who says you can go for a second opinion and/or change to them.

She is currently on Harry Hamster, with a few extra sunflower seeds, and fresh veg. Plus she gets whimzees chews and some other ham treats. The vet didn't actually discuss deficiencies with me though...
That's a good idea about the linseed. I've just sent a query through to Ark Vets. They look good and I'll definitely see about going for a second opinion there. Thanks
