Ride to the vet
The closest exotic vet is in our capital which is like a 45 what should I do for such a long car ride when I eventually take my ham hams to the vet. Also Im sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Re: Ride to the vet
If you get a secure carrier of a decent size and fill it with soft bedding and a little bit of food plus a chunk of cucumber you hamster will travel well I'm sure. They normally sleep once settled. Try and keep it dark so maybe cover with a towel or blanket abd don't play loud music in the car on the way. Most hammies do travel well. Am alternative is a plastic storage box about 1ft square with holes drilled in the lid for air. I hope you don't need to take you hammy to the vets though.
A guinea pic carrier like this is good

Re: Ride to the vet
For my dwarf hamster I have a carrier but finding a good size carrier for a Syrian seems to harder than it needs to be.
The reason I need to go to the vet is because my dwarf Celica needs her nails cut and I can't do it my self and my Syrian Yamagi has a bald spot on his neck area that keeps coming back after the fur regrows back. So hopefully next month I can take them since I already need to be in the capital to get bedding and some other things for the ham hams.

Re: Ride to the vet
For a syrian you really need a Guinea pig or a rabbit carrier I'd say.
