Default Losing weight?

Humphrey was a good weight a few weeks oreven days ago. However, he seems to be losing weight. I can feel his ribs and shoulder blades a lot more than I used to. He is being fed the same stuff in the same quantites. Any idea on what might be going on? He's an active ham still

Have you weighed him? Keep track of his weight weekly if you're concerned just to see if there is a continuous weight loss.
How old is he?
If he's eating normally & still active it's hard to say what might be causing any weight loss.
Do you know if he's eating as much as normal or maybe just hoarding food? It's always a good idea to check teeth if they lose weight.

Cypher, it was one year since we got him in early may. I'm not sure how old he was when we got him

If he was a baby when you got him then he's not that old then, some weight loss is normal in old age but he's not old enough for it to be that I wouldn't think.

As your concerned a good vet check up with an exotic vet might put your mind at ease. The problem might be his teeth getting too long like Cypher was saying? xx

He has had to have his teeth clipped before because he often doesn't chew...

Do you know what the problem with is with his teeth?
Are they misaligned or did he damage them bar chewing or something?
Some hams do have misaligned teeth which will never wear down properly, if that is the case or if there has been some permanent damage which can also result in the teeth no longer wearing down then it is important to get them checked regularly, they grow fast & may need clipping quite frequently, teeth grow faster in summer than winter & can need doing every few weeks if it is an ongoing problem.

A vet check will help ease your worry.

He didn't chew so they just grew, they started going in different directions at the bottom one went a tiny bit right, the other left but it was hardly noticeable. He was very well behaved at the vet. He doesn't generally bar chew
