Default Help please

Hey everyone, my Syrian Storm had wet tail in pets at home but was all cleared for it, now about 7 weeks later, shes gone all shy and staying in her house sleeping all the time, and for about a week i think shes had a wet lady area, also one of her eyes was closed but Ive opened it. Up until now shes been happy storing food and running on her wheel, but no she doesnt even store food. Is this normal in the winter or is it more sinister. This is my first female hamster. When i cleaned her out i had to empty her food stores as well and when i put her back in she ran madly round looking for it and she hasnt built them back up, do you think that next time i clean her cage i should put food where she used to put it? Thanks for your help

I think you need to see a vet again with Storm Matt. Hamsters who have previously had wet tail are very prone to getting it again. If she has a discharge from her vent and is sleeping a lot and has sticky eyes it does seem that she is not well. It could be that her bowel has been damaged from the wet tail and she is not absorbing food properly or she may have a womb infection which needs urgent attention.
I am sorry you have had such a bad time with her already. It isn't fair when they are so young to have to be poorly.
When we clean out we always replace the food in the store and also put some of the old bedding with the hammies scent on it back in thecage. Hamsters do not like being cleaned out as they lose their scent and the way they want their cage to be and it upsets them. We only clean every two weeks, sometimes less with young hammies who wee less and we clean the potty or wet corner every 2 days.

is there a vet attached to the pets at home store? I would try to go back to the same vet as before if you can but if not practical then any vet will do
good luck
