Default To trim or not to trim??

My hammies nails need cutting :S

The never needed it before, but hes started to look like he has claws rather that feet lol They dont seem to be bothering him though.

He is gettin old(2yrs 3mnths) and I was just wondering what you guys think, seeing as I have never harassed him in this way before!
Do you think its better to leave them or stress the old timer and risk him carking it?

Advice mucho appreciated

Is he a dwarf or a syrian? Older dwarfs we tend to leave unless they are curling under as they are hard to do and they get very stressed by in unless they are used to it. Syrians are easy to do if you just lift the paw and clip with baby nail clippers or small nail scissors.
I would do it if you possible can and and I'm sure he will feel comfier with a manicure

Thanks, I hadnt been able to get on the internet to check for replies so I had a go - I managed to get 2 toes done.

He doesnt seem to mind he just doesnt stay still!

Added to the fact he can retract his front legs into his fat

Hes a syrian btw. I think ill have to go for a couple a night as they are getting a bit curly :S

Thanks you I feel alot more comfortable about doing this now

Don't stress him too much as doing one or two nails a day soon gets them all done in a couple of weeks. Glad you are managing it now. Well done
