Half shut eye

When I opened the cage of my hamster to feed her, she came out with one eye half shut. It was worse at first, but then it opened about 50% closed and 50% open. She seems completely normal, and there is no other irritation on her body. There is little eye booger in the middle of her eye attaching the lids. What should I do?

Usually they clear it themselves when grooming, just keep a watch on it to see if it happens again or there are any signs of infection, it does happen quite often though & is usually nothing to worry about, if it doesn't open completely you can try bathing it gently with cotton wool & warm water or saline.

Every time this has happened to one of my hamsters, it's cleared itself up. Or rather, the hamster has sorted it out through grooming. Usually, it happens when the hamster has just woken up. When humans sleep, we sometimes get a build up of gunk in our eyes and it's the same for hamsters. I'd give it until this evening or maybe even tomorrow and then if it's still not gone, you could consider bathing it as Cypher suggests.
