Not sure if the link works but heres the best pic I could get. Botan is probably female since I got her from a big pet store petco but its better to sure cuz there always a possibility of them being wrong.

I still can't see the photo. Could you try copying and pasting the link and seeing if that works? Males will have fairly noticeable testicles, and a more oily and noticeable scent gland

Ah it worked! He does look to be male to me, but I'm not super experienced with Russians so you may get better advice from a more experienced owner. The scent glands on a dwarf are right on the middle of their stomachs

Hmmm I wonder if my vet would know cuz I'm not sure if my vet I take my cat too has any knowledge of hamsters. or lets hope some more people can give me an answer since its always good to have more than one opinion.

I doubt your vet would know if she isn't a trained exotics vet. Hwoever, I'm sure an experienced dwarf owner will be here soon

My vet is a long shot to begin with since we live a small rural town plus he's old and intimidating.

I could only guess really from that photo, it's not easy to see, I would guess male but can't be at all certain.
Can you see the scent gland on the abdomen? It's usually pretty obvious if it is a male.
