Default Worried about hamster

My hamster has not been moving so much in the past days. He seems to be very tired. He rarely goes on his wheel. He doesn't drink too much. Normally, when I try to play with him he is very active. Now, when I take him out he just falls back asleep. I health checked him and everything seems to be fine. Except that it looks like his but has a bunch of poop in it. What is happening?

He doesn't sound too well to me

Does he appear to have overall malaise? If so, you should try taking him to a vet as soon as possible. It's hard to know what could be wrong, but it sounds to me like it's something internal that may be going on. How old is he? Do you think that he's constipated, or just has a dirty bottom? If he appears constipated, you can offer a few drops of olive oil into his food. Olive oil softens stools and will make it easier to pass. Good luck, hope he feels better soon

Hi, yes your hamster sounds to be quite sick, I would get him to a vet ASAP as your not going to know otherwise. How long has this been going on for? Has he been eatting ok? Sounds like he could be possibly impacted (badly constipated) from what you have said but it's hard to tell. Does his tummy appear bloated or swollen in any way? Is he an old hammie?

What's the temperature like where you are jojono7?
If it's hot then it's possible the heat may be causing this, if not then it does sound as though he's unwell & you need to get your vet to check him out.
Have you checked to make sure his water bottle is working ok, if he doesn't seem to be drinking too much he may be dehydrated & that could cause him to get constipated.
It's very difficult to guess what the problem may be but your vet should be able to help him.
