Default Soft poo

Last night I noticed that my Syrian Mo had done a few rather soft poos - she'd done loads of normal pellet shaped ones that werent that soft, but there were also a few that werent really shaped and were squidgy and goopy (not runny, just soft and mucky).

It's the same again tonight - loads of normal poos, but a few squidgy ones too.

What could this be? She still seems quite keen, and happily came out last night for a run about. She is now chewing on her cardboard as usual.

She normally has broccoly every night, and the other night she had a small piece of carrot too - could it be this? I'm giving her just dry food now since I found the soft poo.

Any ideas?

Default Re: Soft poo

It does sound as if she has eaten a bit too much veg there. Xheck her store and make sure she hasn't got some yucky veg in there too. I'd keep her on dry food for now and then start veg again but only a finfernail sized bit every second day.
Some hammies do sometimes get it wrong and eliminate some of the soft poo that they would normally re-eat and pass through twice. It often happens with babies we find.
Some arrowroot biscuit or a little arrowrrot powder on her food may help.
Monitor her closely for any changes in her pattern and hope she is better soon.
