Default Hamster cough

I'm a little bit worried about Percy... he seems to have developed a cough. He is quite a *noisy* hamster and does seem to like to make lots of different sounds at first i thought it was just one of those but last night it seemed to have developed into more of a cough. He looks fine, bright eyed no discharge, drinking, eating, playing, going on his wheel. It seems to be quite persistant though. I've got no problem taking him to the vet, but with it being easter they will only have emergency appointments. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips, i'm quite worried He is kept on megazorb.

It might be the substrate giving him problems, I tried megazorb some time ago now & just getting some out of the bag set off my asthma it was so dusty so it might be worth switching to something else, fitch would be the best thing.
It could also be a respiratory infection, no way of knowing really, he'll probably be ok over the easter weekend but if it does persist or get worse then I would take him to the vet for a check.

Thanks cyper. He seems a little better, just the occasional cough, but still looking well, maybe he was digging a bit more that night. I've ordered some fitch so i'll swap the substrate when it arrives see if it helps.

Good to hear he seems better, I do hope the change of substrate resolves the problem & he'll be fine.
