I have a cold!

I woke up this morning with a yucky cold - and I wanted to know, does that mean I cant handle Little Mo at all? because I cannot leave her in her cage without being brought out for the next few days or however long I have this thing!! She'd go nuts and I'll feel really guilty.

Would it be safe if I wash my hands before handling her, and don't breathe on her? I dont want her to catch my germs

No you should not handle her nor breathe near her Shazzy. A cold virus can kill a hamster. Better a few days frustration than seriously ill.
If you cannot get someone else to feed her obviously you will have to do that. Wash hands well and use a cup to scoop the food in. Maybe a few treat sticks would keep her busy or a dog biscuit?

But I don't want her getting ill so, so be it!

My partner is not really used to handling her cos I always do - we dont have a play pen for her so I usually let her run around the living room/hall/bathroom. I'd be scared that he wouldnt catch her in time if she goes trotting off as she's quite speedy and he's not confident!

I'll get him to feed her though and clean out her potty.

I'm gonna feel so guilty!
