Poorly pet hamster at London champs

Hi there, just thought I'd post to let everyone know that Cordelia, the female syrian hamster that came 2nd in the pet class at London Champs last week is fine. She has been to the vet and has an abcess on her vaginal wall. The vet is confident that this will clear up with antibiotics and she is to see him again in 3 weeks.

Quick update

Cordelia has to see the vet again on wednesday, the lump is now half the size it was so it's looking good. She does, however, hate me at the moment, I am nasty medicine giving lady, lol. I'm sure she'll love me again soon.

Okay, so Cordy didn't respond to the antibiotics, she had the abcess lanced yesterday and seems much happier now. She has a 7 day course of antibiotics and should be better soon ( I really hope so, it never seemed to bother her but has cost me £98 so far in vets bills ).

Sometimes these abcesses will continually fill up again as it is hard to get the antibiotic into the capsule.
