Stuck eye

Hi guys, it appears my hammy has one eyelid stuck (he just woke up) its happened before and he managed to open it. Is it normal? I assume it's just because he was asleep and his fur is abit sticky. How can I help him?

use a damp towel/paper towel and see if you could dab is eye a bit, is there anything around the eye or any goop?

If the eye continues to stay shut or your ham won't let you touch it you should see a vet

It does happen sometimes & he should be able to wash his eye himself & unstick it, if it happens continuously it can be a sign of an eye infection.
If it does stay stuck just gently bathing with cotton wool using either warm water or saline will do it.
