Default Dwarf hamster - NOT WELL please help

Hi

Please can anybody advise?

I have a 2 1/2 year chinese dwarf Mr Grape.

The last few days he was scracthing all the time, he has now lost fur.

He is also sleeping alot and most disturbingly i cannot see his usually very prounounced testes anymore.

I took him to the vet, she couldnt find a cause to the itching and gave him an anti inflammatory injection. She said his testes must be inside but usually you can see them very clearly, now they look like their missing.

He is not sleeping in his usual home but outside in the tank and breathes faster than usual when sleeping.

He is eating and drinking normally and has a clean new bedding etc.

Any ideas.

Thanks so much Dave

I wouldn't worry too much maybe about his testes

However maybe something you use i causing an allergy which causes him to itch aggressively

I hope I helped but I wold look up the testes. Best of luck

Mr. Grape is a really good age now & skin problems, dryness & itching can be more of a problem as they age, I generally give extra flax seeds & evening primrose oil (I put this on oat flakes for them as they only need a tiny bit, maybe half a drop a day) & have found that really helps.
I know hams testes can retract due to stress or cold but I can understand your concern as it's never happened with my Chinese man ham & they are so obvious in a Chinese I would be worried too but don't have the experience to help there.
He does sound as though he is unwell with the rapid breathing, if that doesn't improve I would go back to the vet in case he has any respiratory problems, possibly an infection.
Hope the little guy is feeling better soon.

I would take him back to the vet. I love his name 'Mr Grape'.
