Bald Patch behind left ear
This happened around four days ago, I woke up early in the morning around 5:30am and Cookie was up and about but I noticed she has a bald patch around the size of her ear by her ear towards the back. I'm not sure if it has gotten slightly bigger or stayed the same.
She's doing everything normally and I've checked that there's no sign of mites she also doesn't scratch much, I bought some drop thing from viovet but it hasn't arrived yet, I'm also not sure if I should give that to her for a just in case job?
I've been looking into alopecia but not sure if that's possible for roborovskis? She's only 6 months old. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be/whether or not I should take her to the vets as she's behaving normally.

Re: Bald Patch behind left ear
I wouldn't use spot on mite treatment without being sure that it is mites causing the problem & only a vet can tell you that for sure.
It could just be that she's been rubbing against something in the cage, check there's nothing that's got a bit sharp or broken & watch her behaviour to see if she just likes to rub that area!
If you could get a photo that might help us see what's going on.

Re: Bald Patch behind left ear
That is quite a big patch for such a little ham, not sure what might cause that if she isn't rubbing, it is possible it could be mites but I would get your vet to check before doing any treatment.

Yeah, and it only seems to be getting bigger. I've booked an appointment with the vets this evening so hopefully I'll find out what's wrong.

Re: Bald Patch behind left ear
It went ok, the vet didn't see any mite issues and she isn't scratching that patch constantly. We suspect that she may have had a small injury and just scratched it when I wasn't looking as the area is completely fine because the vet can feel food where the pouch is.
She's been given some Baytril for the time being and over the last couple of days the area seems less red with some fur growing back. I think she'll be ok
