Jumping against glass
My 2 yr & 3-4 mo old WW dwarf hamster is climbing onto top of bendy bridge while I was talking to her & she jumped as hard as she could against the glass then fell to the ground .
The other thing she started doing is obsessively chewing everything in her cage
She could have a brain tumor & that's why one eye is bulging? Souffle suggested this months ago.
Other than these new behaviors she seems happy.

Re: Jumping against glass
Well, for starters, she's a good age isn't she Is she limping or anything after her lemming leap? Did she fall far or anything?
Apart from taking her to the vet if you suspect she may have a tumour and/or an eye problem, she may be at a point where she needs the "granny flat" of cage set ups - everything on one level, easy access and nothing to fall off. (Although, I did that for my little robo Hector when he was old and wobbley and he still managed to find things to climb on so y'know, a determined ham is a determined ham...)

Re: Jumping against glass
She is a good old age She has had a good life. Next week will be her 2 yr anniversary with me. Time flies
She has a bendy bridge that she loves to chew and climb. Think she'd be depressed if I took that away from her. Other than that she doesn't have any levels. She isn't limping. She jumped against the glass when I was talking baby talk to her so I don't do that anymore (although her entire life I talked baby talk to her). She seems today no problems. Hopefully it was a random thing she did, although I think it's the beginning of a neurological problem, hopefully not. If behavior gets worse then I'll take her in to the vet. Could be just old age, doing crazy things?

Re: Jumping against glass
She's obsessed with chewing the bendy bridge still, everyday, several times a day. No more jumps but I'm not talking baby talk to her anymore. Just quiet talk.
