Can hamsters catch sore throat?
I woke up with a sore and swollen throat this morning. I have read somewhere that hamsters can catch illness from their humans? Is this true? I'm not congested but feeling a bit crappy and run down. Am I better keeping Lawrence away from me until I'm better?

Re: Can hamsters catch sore throat?
Yes, hamsters can catch your cold. I'd limit interaction if you can. Wash your hands thoroughly before you change the food and water and don't linger over the cage so you're not breathing on them. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Velma! I will put the other half on Lawrence duty for a few days.
