Question Vet Trip Again?

Hello all,

So I was doing my check on Nutmeg to see if she is healthy and saw a lump just by her rear right leg. It looked red like she had been bitten but equally I wander if it a tumour but in its early stages. I couldn't get a picture but I will try and get one tomorrow She s drinking and eating fine, she had a large spot clean this morning though. I will check on her frequently throughout the next few days and then make a decision, glad I just started a vet fund

Her leg had looked like it had been troubling her a bit but she is still running about on her wheel fine Perhaps it is a sprain as her wheel has been difficult to run on, I have just swapped it for another wheel though. The lump/ bite/ thing is on a muscle.

I don't know if there was discharge from the eye, it looked like there way a tiny bit though but not enough to be anything like conjunctivas or something similar. She has, I think been behaving strangely but I have got back from a holiday so didn't see her for a while so maybe it is because I hadn't seen her, she has been in the cage for 2 weeks too.

I know it is not much to go on (Sorry for that by the way XD) but any thoughts would be appreciated. Should I take her to the vets straight away or keep an eye on her?

I did a symptom check on my vets and it said (the site) to book an appointment in the next 24 hours but the questions were limited like: Is she alert and responding to you? YES. Are there any open wounds on the lump? NO. Is there blood in the cage? NO. Is the Hamster drinking and eating normally. YES. Where is the lump located? By right Paw.

Sorry for the long post and any help is appreciated.

Thanks

How big is the lump on her leg? When you say it looks as though she had been bitten I wondered if maybe she has caught her leg on something in the cage that might have cut her & caused a little bit of swelling?
Hard to say without seeing it, can you get a photo?

The lump is about the size of a flea bite on a human. Oh I wandered if it was fleas or nits as that was the size as she has been itching but it could have caused a swelling, it was rather pink. I will try to get a pic, would you recommend me to get it this evening when Nutmeg is awake or now but I would need to wake her up?

Thanks

I'd wait until the evening so she co-operates better, having not been woken up in the middle of the day

So I couldn't get the picture sadly... I have a plan though I am going to view the lump/ red/pink thing and see whether or not it worsens if so will take her to the vet... Sound like a plan? I will check it everyday
