Ok, thanks all but we have it all sorted now I have blunted down the cocktail sticks and are now vertically sitting in the way so Nutmeg can't reach the other harmful glue, that was the main point of this, the glue I used is very thick "Pet glue" it has worked a charm! Serendipity7000, I couldn't use that glue as I am away on Saturday so it may not have arrived in time Thanks everyone that helped, much appreciated!

Special thanks to:

Will post what the cage looks like tomorrow with Nutmeg in. Pics will be in a new thread entitled: "Nutmeg's new Cage "

Nutmeg is moving in this evening so it is less stressful and the glue can dry 100%. here is what I did with the cocktail sticks last night in the cage

I didn't put the Pet glue on the other bit of wood as it is blocked by the glass

That's looks really good, that will definitely prevent her from accessing the other glue. I'm sure Nutmeg will enjoy her new cage when she moves in tonight.

Yes I can't wait for her to move in, she is going to love the size! I think what I will do is that if she chews the wood then I will put lemon juice on it but only if she chews them

Thanks for your help SKB_Hamsters

Your more than welcome. How is the flour glue drying?
I would advise not putting lemon juice on the wood as it not safe for hamsters and is to acidic for them. I would recommend putting something in the way that Nutmeg would chew instead I.e. A treat stick. But as you previously mentioned Nutmeg isn't a big chewer so hopefully you won't have a problem.

Ok. I will definitely try the flour glue myself the next time I plan to make something for my hamster.
