Re: Charlie has a hernia
Hi Bec
Charlie is fine in himself, thanks. Eating well etc. I'm just concerned about the swelling.
The vet just said they would do a check up in 6 months.
His testicle was hardly noticeable at first but after the vet messing with it its become a lot more prominent.

Re: Charlie has a hernia
His testicles are probably just more noticeable right now because they are all the way "out."Syrians can retract their testicles to where you can't see them well. Since his will be sore from the operation by guess is he is just letting them hang out

Re: Charlie has a hernia
Glad he is fine within himself, I would keep a check on him, as I'm sure you will do and if anything unusual or his behaviour changes then if you are concerned get him checked.
Bear in mind the weather too as it's been warm and that may affect his ham-parts!

Re: Charlie has a hernia
Bec made an excellent point about the weather and the heat affecting his bits.
You know Charlie better than anyone, so checking it often you'll notice anything odd.

Re: Charlie has a hernia
Thanks for the replies
yes it has been very warm so could be a factor. Charlie will go back for a check up in 6 months anyway so fingers crossed he stays healthy.
He's certainly full of beans at the moment, lol so that's surely a good sign. x

Re: Charlie has a hernia
Hope all is ok - I think our Charlie was about six months when I first noticed his testicles popping out like a big red lump.
Does it look like this?
That's our Charlie sitting on his while falling asleep I hope the vet didn't charge you for the anaesthetic!
