Default Hamster head is bobbing

I went to check on one of my hamsters and i thought he had passed away but he was having tremurs!! He is still eating and drinking while it's happening and it only happens when he lifts his head but is fine when his head is down. All the vets i go to usually are closed today so i have to wait till tomorrow for him to be seen but i was wondering if anyone has heard of it or seen it before!!

I'm sorry your hamster isn't very well. I have seen this in old hamsters who have become weak. How old is he? Is it all of a sudden?

He is about 9-10 months old!! I called the vet amd they said to start antibiotics and pain meds. It has gotten a lot better but still small tremors

Yup so at that age it's likely he's picked up some sort of infection or similar that has just made him quite weak. That would be my thought. I really hope he continues to pick up for you. An improvement at this stage is a good sign and means it's unlikely to have been something neurological
