Hopefully the final update on this thread: Sophie just got the last dose of antibiotics, and she seems to be doing great. The first night back from the vet was the first time Sophie got to run on her wheel since all this started. Then last night before I went to bed, she was going crazy wanting to be out of her cage (apparently that's what she's telling me when she chews on the lid). She ran around for a while, and when I put her back she let herself out (I have tubes set up) and ran around again, probably a little over an hour altogether. The last time I put her back, she got a drink and put herself to bed, she was a tired little girl. She seems pretty tuckered out tonight as well-- understandable given the week she's had.
Like I said, I'm hoping this is the last update for this thread. I think I'm going to start a new thread for Sophie under Syrian hamsters-- Sophie got a new toy (tubes) I want to tell you guys about.
Again, thanks to so many of you for helping me and Sophie through this. You guys have no idea how much that meant to me
